The free-lance artist who was born in Kiel/Germany today lives by Lake Constance where the surrounding landscape is one of the most beautiful area of Germany. From her earliest childhood she was fascinated by painting, both her mother and her uncle were painters. The animals which she grew up with were her first painting subjects. The active horsewoman has a special love of horses. These were her initial and favorite motives. From these very beginnings she developed the wide range of her artistic work. In the beginning she preferred animal portraits and today she attaches great importance to portraying wild animals in their natural environment. She has a fine sense for nature and its creatures, especially for animals in the wild and for hunting motives. The artist does not only look for motives in the area of Lake Contance where she has been living in Daisendorf/Meersburg for more than 10 years. Her observations are mainly focused on the alpine flora and fauna of Austria and Switzerland. She has made extensive study trips to the USA, Canada and recently to Africa. On her journey to Africa, especially in Namibia and South Africa, she was fascinated by the motives of African culture as well as the people, the landscape and of course the animal Kingdom. She also of course met the indigenous peoples who had a lasting effect on her creative work. In addition to that she creates title pages of catalogs for a mail-order house specializing in hunting clothing and supplies embroidery patterns for clothing. Her paintings of domestic and exotic wildlife and hunting scenes always experienced great demand for large sized hunting calendars, specialized magazines, layouts for covers and even for childrens books. In her paintings the artist perfectly manages to bring across the fascination of the animal world to the beholder. Her special liking for brilliant colours and details, her awareness of scenes and atmospheres support the effect that animal and landscape are an integrated unit. The artist Karin Broszeit-Borchert portrays in her paintings that special harmony of animal and environment, irrespective of whether it is the local countryside or the wide open spaces of steppe and savanna. That's what we call today the fascination of the past, the so-called good old days. |
